The Texans look to continue their five-game win streak this weekend as they host two conference rivals

The Tarleton Women's Basketball team (11-4, 5-4 LSC) look to continue their five-game win streak this weekend as they host Texas-Permian Basin (7-8, 4-5 LSC) on Thursday and Western New Mexico (4-9, 1-8 LSC) on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Texans captured their fifth straight win over Arkansas-Fort Smith on the road Saturday afternoon after forcing 23 Lion turnovers. The Texans have forced 114 total turnovers through their win streak, averaging 22.8 opponent turnovers over the last five games.
 
Tarleton shot 55.6% and are now 9-0 on the season when shooting over 40% from the field. Mackenzie Hailey captured a season-high of 27 points in the match-up, one point short of her career high.
 
In addition to her season-high points, Hailey notched six rebounds, two steals, and a block. The senior also shot 73.3% from the field (11-15). Alexa Hoy tallied 16 points, one point from a season high, off 66.7% shooting.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: TEXAS-PERMIAN BASIN
The Texans and Falcons met last season, where Tarleton defeated UTPB on the road, 69-56. The Texans lead the all-time series 15-2, 10-0 at home, and are currently on a eight-game win streak versus the Falcons.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: WESTERN NEW MEXICO
The Texans and Mustangs met last season, where Tarleton defeated Western New Mexico on the road, 60-37. The Texans are historically undefeated against the Mustangs with an overall record of 7-0. The Mustangs are set to place Texas Woman's on Thursday before traveling to Stephenville for Saturday's match-up.
 
HAILEY REWRITING THE RECORD BOOK
Mackenzie Hailey is climbing the all-time leaderboard in several categories and is close to moving up to the next spot:
• Steals: 216 (6th place); Needs four steals to pass Kiara Wright for 5th place.
• Points: 1662 (5th place); Needs 16 points to pass Kiara Wright for 4th place.
• Blocks: 116 (3rd place); Needs 43 blocks to pass JoAnne Jones for 2nd place.
• Rebounds: 803 (6th place); Needs 61 rebounds to pass Kaelie Butler for 5th place.
 
HEAD COACH MISTY WILSON RADIO SHOW
The Misty Wilson Radio Show takes place every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. from the lobby of First Financial Bank. The sixth-year head coach of the Texans will join Kyle Crews for a 30-minute program each week to discuss previous performances, upcoming opponents, and other storylines. Student-Athletes will join the show as well.

The Texans will face Texas Woman's for their lone match-up next week. The game will take place in Denton at the Kitty Magee Arena on Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 p.m.
