AT A GLANCE

The game against Champion Christian is the final scheduled nonconference home game for Tarleton. The Texans' game against Florida on Monday replaces a previously scheduled home game against Arlington Baptist that same day.

Tarleton has a chance to wright the ship against the Tigers. The Texans (2-3) are riding a two-game losing streak following road losses at Lamar and Oral Roberts. Tarleton was held under 60 points in its last two contests after averaging 76 points per game in its first three ballgames. The Texans shot a season-worst 27 percent (20-74) from the field in Thursday's loss at Oral Roberts.

Both of Tarleton's victories have come inside Wisdom Gym vs. non-Division I opponents. Conversely, all three of the team's losses have been away from home and against Division I foes.

Saturday's contest counts as an exhibition game for the Tigers. Champion Christian last played on Nov. 16 when it defeated Texas A&M-Texarkana 73-69.

The Tigers (2-1) and Texans share a common opponent, as both teams have defeated Bacone College. Champion Christian opened its season on Oc.t 30 with an 89-82 victory over the Warriors. Tarleton's most recent win was against Bacone on Dec. 2 in an 80-39 victory.

The Texans fell 66-56 to the Golden Eagles in Tulsa on Thursday. Tarleton's field goal percentage, points scored and free throw percentage (57 percent) were all season lows.
