ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • This is the fourth ever meeting between these two teams. The Texans lead the overall series 2-1, although the Golden Eagles won the most recent matchup, a 66-56 win in Tulsa on Dec. 10 last season. Tarleton won both of their games in 1990.
  • After losing four straight to start their year, Oral Roberts has won four of five and two straight.
  • Oral Roberts won their last two games by a combined 115 points, including a 68-point win.
  • The Golden Eagles have yet to win a game on the road this season (0-3). Tarleton is 4-1 at home.

QUICK HITS
  • The Texans have begun their season 4-1 at home for the fourth time in their last five seasons. In the other three instances, they improved to 5-1 at home.
  • With a win against Oral Roberts, Tarleton will guarantee themselves a winning record in their 2021-22 non-conference slate in just their second season at the NCAA Division I level.
  • The Texans have made 20 three-pointers over their last two games, shooting their second-best clip from distance in their last game at 52.9 percent (9-of-17).
  • The Texans have the tied-fourth best record in the WAC at 5-3, just 1.5 games back of No. 2 ACU.
  • Malaya Kendrick recorded seven points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals at Weber State. It was the fifth time in eight games she's had 8+ boards. At 8.1 RPG, she has the fourth best average in the WAC. Across all of NCAA Division I, only 22 guards have a higher RPG mark.
  • Seynabou Thiam just added two more blocks to her season-total, now at 18. She's had six multi-block games this season. She's averaging the most blocks in the WAC at 2.3 BPG. The next closest player has 1.6 BPG (California Baptist's Caitlyn Harper). Only 30 players in NCAA Division I are averaging more blocks than Thiam this season.
  • Tarleton just had their six-game streak of getting 40+ rebounds snapped, which was their longest such run in at least 15 years. They're 5-1 when outrebounding opponents, 0-2 when outrebounded.

WHO'S HOT
  • Iyana Dorsey – In the last game, Dorsey poured in 14 points in 20 minutes off the bench. It was the first time she came off the bench in her collegiate career, which didn't faze her, as she led the team in scoring for the third time this season, the 14th time in her 33 games.
  • Jenna Dick – Dick made 2-of-3 from distance at Weber State. Over her last two games, she's made 7-of-12 (.583) from downtown. She's shooting 50.0 percent from beyond the arc, the third best mark in the WAC. Only 15 players in NCAA Division I have a higher percentage this year.
  • Malaya Kendrick – Following a seven-point, eight-rebound, six-assist performance, Kendrick has 66 points, 65 rebounds and 28 assists on the season. She's the only player in the WAC with 60+ rebounds and 25+ assists. Only five Texans had 60+ rebounds and 25+ assists over 25 games last season..

NUMBERS TO KNOW
33: The Texans are allowing a WAC-best 55.5 points per game. Teams are shooting just 33.3 percent against Tarleton, also the best mark in the WAC. Only 20 teams in all of NCAA Division I are allowing a LOWER FIELD GOAL PERCENTAGE.

8.9: Tarleton is earning 8.9 more REBOUNDS PER GAME than opponents this season. That'd be the tied-35th best rebounding margin in NCAA Division I, if not for reclassification. The Texans' best rebounding margin in the last 10 seasons was +4.9 in 2014-15.

42: Tarleton has the second-most TOTAL BLOCKS in the WAC this season with 42. Seynabou Thiam has 18 of those, which is about 43 percent of the team's total. Six Texans have multiple blocks to their names.

39: Generally a 39 percent clip from the field is nothing to brag about, but that's all the Texans have needed to muster to win this season. When shooting 39 PERCENT OR BETTER FROM THE FIELD, the Texans are 5-0, and 0-3 when shooting under 39 percent.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
On Saturday, the Texans will start a two-game trip at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Tarleton has never faced the Demons, who are 5-3 this season coming off a 78-71 overtime victory over Mississippi Valley State.
