AT A GLANCE
The Texans will compete in their first baseball matchups of their inaugural Division I season on the road against Abilene Christian. Tarleton will take on the Wildcats in a doubleheader at Crutcher Scott Field in Abilene Saturday Feb. 20 with the first game starting at 2 p.m. CT and the second match 40 minutes after the first. Game one will be nine innings and game two will be seven innings. The third game of the series will be played at home for the Texans at 2 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 21 for the first home game of the season.

ATTENDING THE GAME AT TARLETON
At this time, capacity is limited to a maximum of 50 percent at the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex, per Governor Abbott's Executive Order No. GA-28. Due to the WAC's COVID-19 policy, the seating areas must be at least 12 feet from playing surface. Limited general admission tickets are available.

INSIDE THE SERIES: ABILENE CHRISTIAN
The Texans and Wildcats are meeting for the first time since April 21, 2013. ACU leads Tarleton 57-54. Tarleton and ACU have a storied rivalry 104-game history that dates back to 1991. The Texans and Wildcats were regular rivals for many years of Tarleton Baseball's modern era.

TEXAN BASEBALL ROSTER LOOKS
This season the Texans have a 45-player roster that includes 29 returners from last season and 19 transfers or new members. Of the 45-player roster 34 began their baseball careers at another college and transferred in and just two on the roster came to Tarleton straight from high school.

Tarleton is ready to compete at the Division I level after their 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19. With a slew of seniors returning for their final season, the Texans have something to prove this year and
Blake Burns who was named to the All-WAC preseason team as a first baseman will be leading that charge.

Although picked to finish last in the WAC preseason poll, Meade said it is expected of being a newcomer in the conference and his team will fight every night to move up the standings by the end of the year.

The Texans will travel to Arlington, Tx next to compete against UT-Arlington at Globe Life Field on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. followed by a mid-week game against A&M in College Station Wednesday Feb. 24.
