Tarleton Men's Basketball returns home for the final WAC series of the regular season as they take on three-time defending WAC champion New Mexico State on Feb. 26-27 in Wisdom Gym. Friday's game will broadcast on ESPN+ while Saturday's game will stream live on the WAC Digital Network. Tarleton enters the weekend 7-9 overall and 2-6 in the WAC while New Mexico State is 6-6 overall and 3-5 in conference.

In the latest NCAA Net Rankings of 2021, Tarleton is seventh in the WAC at 286. Grand Canyon leads the WAC with a 1274 Net Raking. The NET utilizes two factors in ranking teams: the Team Value Index (factors in results, quality of opponent and location) and the team's net efficiency (efficiency metrics scaled for quality of opponent and location).

INSIDE THE SERIES: NEW MEXICO STATE
 
Tarleton and New Mexico State are meeting for the first time in program history. Texan head coach Billy Gillispie is 2-2 all-time against NMSU, with all four games coming in 2002-03 when he was the head coach at UTEP. Gillispie went 1-1 at El Paso and 1-1 in Las Cruces.
 
LAST TIME OUT: DIXIE STATE
 
Tarleton split a road series in St. George, Utah against Dixie State. The Texans won the first game of the series, 77-59 behind Konstantin Dotsenko's game-high 23 points. The Texans fell in the series finale, 64-48.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON: UTRGV
 
Tarleton will travel south to Edinburg, Texas to play its final series of the season at UTRGV. The Texans will play the Vaqueros on March 5-6 at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
