SAN MARCOS – Tarleton battled hard but ultimately lost a heartbreaker on the tennis courts to Texas State at the Bobcat Tennis Complex 4-3.
 
Tarleton surrendered the doubles point with losses in the No. 1 and 3 flights. Mihaela Codreanu and Faustine Palatte were locked in a tight contest in the No. 2 flight but stopped after the clinch.
 
Jemi Aguilar and Martha Makantasi continued their conference-best winning streaks in singles. Aguilar won her fifth straight match with a thrilling 5-7, 6-3, 10-5 tiebreak victory while Makantasi continues to lead the entire conference with a 6-1 singles mark after a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3.
 
Celia Vaudiau won Tarleton's other point of the day with a 6-1, 6-3 win in the No. 5 flight.
