ABILENE, Texas – The Tarleton volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Abilene Christian on Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.

Grayson Schirpik led the Texans (11-13, 3-6 WAC) with 14 kills to pair with eight digs and
Emma Halcomb added a season-high 16 digs, but ACU (6-15, 3-6 WAC) had three players finish with double-digit kills on their way to the 3-1 victory.

Tarleton stormed back from a 14-5 deficit in set one, tying it at 15 behind a 10-1 run that saw Schirpik land three kills. ACU ultimately eked it out, scoring four of the final five points with the set tied at 21.

The Texans rallied to tie the match at a set apiece with a 25-18 set two win. They never trailed throughout as they hit .167, their highest throughout the match. Schirpik had seven kills in the set and
Ailie Hair added two service aces.

ACU took hold of the match in set three, downing Tarleton 25-12 as they hit .464. The Wildcats held Tarleton to .081 hitting in the match while they landed their attacks at a .225 rate.

Set four saw Tarleton fall behind early, with ACU storming out to a 10-4 lead. The Texans were unable to recover. They brought the score to within five at 15-10 off a kill from Hair, but ACU eventually pulled away with a 25-15 win to take the match.

The Texans will play their final two home matches of the season in Wisdom Gym next week. They start off hosting Utah Valley on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT before welcoming Seattle U for a 1 p.m. CT match on Saturday. The Seattle U match on Saturday will be 'Spooky Saturday' where fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
