• This is the sixth all-time meeting, with all five coming over the past two years. UTRGV leads the series 3-2 and won both games last year, 64-58 in Stephenville and 64-55 in Edinburg.
• Tarleton earned its first NCAA Division I win and WAC win against UTRGV in 2020-21.

• Nyajah Mitchels – Mitchels has shot 50 percent or better from the field in four straight games, scoring her fifth 10+ point game of the season in Tarleton's last contest. She has the 11th highest field goal percentage in the WAC (min. 20 FGA) at .532. She's third on the team in scoring (7.9 PPG).
• Mayra Caicedo – Caicedo just scored her fourth 10+ point game of the season with 10 points at New Mexico State, adding three steals. She's seventh in the WAC in assists per game (3.6) and tied-16th in steals per game (1.7). She's 40 points away from reaching 500 career points.
• Jenna Dick – Dick made two three-pointers in the fourth quarter in the last game, breaking a string of 14 straight three-point misses, dating back to Dec. 19 at Ball State in Puerto Rico.
