STEPHENVILLE, Texas — After doing a little bit of everything for the Texans on Saturday, kicker/punter Adrian Guzman has been named the United Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
 
Guzman went 4-for-4 on kicks, including 2-of-2 on field goals from 40 yards and 35 yards out, plus had five punts cover 42.6 yards on average against Southern Utah on Saturday. Among his five punts, he had a long boot of 58 yards that pinned the Thunderbirds inside the 5-yard line, and placed a 40-yard punt to put SUU at the 12-yard line.
 
Guzman's 40-yard field goal make was his second longest of the season and his longest since a 41-yard kick in the season opener. His two field goal makes tied a season-high, and his 58-yard punt was his second longest of the season, while also tying a season-high with two punts inside the 20-yard line.
 
The junior from Temple, Texas, has not missed a kick this year, going a combined 28-for-28 (7-for-7 on field goals and 21-for-21 on extra points).
 
This was his second weekly award of the year and the fifth of his career. He was also the UAC Special Teams Player of the Week after the season opener at McNeese. Guzman is the first player in United Athletic Conference history to earn two weekly honors.
 
For the Texans, this marks their fifth weekly award of the season. Besides Guzman's two, wide receiver Keylan Johnson was the UAC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 2, and defensive back Patrick Jones and linebacker D.J. Harris made it back-to-back UAC Defensive Player of the Week awards for Tarleton from Weeks 1-2.
 
Also announced Monday, Central Arkansas' Will McElvain was named the UAC Offensive Player of the Week, Utah Tech's Dondi Fuller was named the UAC Defensive Player of the Week, and Southern Utah's Anson Kraut was named the UAC Freshman of the Week, respectively.
