STEPHENVILLE, Texas
– Tarleton State Women's Soccer heads to Oral Roberts for a Thursday night matchup against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at 7 p.m. at Case Soccer Complex. The Texans will then return home to host Prairie View A&M on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Tarleton Soccer Complex, where admission is always free.
Thursday's match against Oral Roberts will be broadcasted on the Summit League Network, a subscription is required. Rylee Low connected on a penalty kick goal for her team-leading third goal of the season on Friday night against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.
Mikayla Kendall broke her single game saves record notching 12 against the Islanders on Friday night.
On Sunday,
Emma Barnes made her first collegiate start against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in which she made a career-high two saves.
Head coach
Pete Cuadrado is in his 21
st season as a collegiate head coach. Tarleton State is his third program, preceded by Wyoming and North Dakota State. He has accumulated 176 wins in his three stops and has been named coach of the year twice.
For the first time in program history the Texans will square up against Oral Roberts and Prairie View A&M.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles lost two straight before winning last week at the Kansas State Wildcats on Sunday, 2-1. Nine different players have scored a goal for the Golden Eagles this year. Gabrielle Abbey and Julia Phasaphong each have tallied a pair of goals. Alexa Riefer has been the main goalkeeper with seven starts in goal this season. She currently has a 2.14 GAA with two wins and 37 saves.
Head coach Austin Risenhoover enters his second season at the helm of the Oral Roberts women's soccer program. Risenhoover served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Cal for the past five seasons. While at Cal, the Bears made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.
The Panthers open the week against Abilene Christian before heading to Stephenville this Saturday. The Panthers have not scored in the past three games and have been outscored by 17 during that timeframe. Only two players have scored a goal, both of those coming in the loss to Sam Houston to open the season. The Panthers have used three different goalies in goal this year. Medinat Lawal has been the primary keeper, notching a 5.00 GAA with 17 saves this season.
Head coach Abe Garcia is back with the Panthers this season. Garcia led the Panthers to one NCAA Tournament appearance, two trips to the SWAC Tournament Championship match, and six trips to the semifinals as the Lady Panthers earned a trip to the SWAC postseason tournament in each of his first nine seasons.
Tarleton State will open a three-game road trip beginning on Thursday, September 21
st at Stephen F. Austin at 7 p.m. The Texans will travel further south to UTRGV for a Sunday matinee with the Vaqueros at 1 p.m.
