BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texans will be put to the test as they will lace them up at the Texas A&M Invitational on Friday.
The men will kick off the day competing in the 8K starting at 8 a.m. They will look to continue off the success they had last year after placing second overall, behind host Texas A&M.
Kevin Baez had the best finish last season in Aggieland as he took fourth place behind three Aggies. Also finishing in the top-10 last year was
Angel Contreras who will look to do the same this time around.
Also competing on the men's side this go around is Alan Alfaro, Diego Flores, Kellen Frickel and Christopher Moreno. Frickel had a top-10 finish for the Texans two weeks ago at the John McKenzie Invitational hosted by TCU as he took ninth.
The women will line up shortly after at 8:45 a.m., competing in the 5K. The Texans will look to improve this season after finishing ahead of UNT, Texas State and Prairie View A&M.
The Purple and White will have three faces that are familiar to the meet in Georgiana Balderas,
Sage Lancaster and
Kailey Sykora who all competed last year in Bryan-College Station, Texas. Lancaster will look to do the same down in Aggie territory as she did two weeks ago at the John McKenzie Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas. She finished with a top-20 finish placing 17th overall.
The Texans will have four other athletes competing as well. They are
Jordan Jones,
Aimee Landers-Wilburn, Emily Teal,
Magaly Lopez.
The meet will be hosted at Watts Cross Country Course in Bryan-College Station, Texas. There will be live stats for both the men and women. They can be found
