STEPHENVILLE, Texas
– Tarleton State Women's Soccer opens WAC play with a pair of road contests while spending five consecutive days away from Stephenville. First, the Texans will travel to Nacogdoches to take on Stephen F. Austin at 7 p.m. on Thursday night at the SFA Soccer Field. Then, Tarleton will continue down south to Edinburg to take on the Vaqueros of UTRGV on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

Rylee Low's three goals in the last five contests leads the Texans scoring attack. Tarleton State's leading goal scorer and point total (6) is a defender for the first time this season.
Mikayla Kendall broke her single game saves record yet again totaling 19 against Oral Roberts last Thursday. The sophomore leads the WAC in total saves (73) and saves per game (8.11) heading into conference play.
Mila Bettinelli ranks in the top 10 in three statistical categories (goals, points per game, and goals per game) among active players in the WAC.
As a unit, Tarleton ranks in the top five in goals (15) and shots (104). The Texans also rank second in fewest fouls called per game (7.60).
Avery Harr and Low remain as the only Texans to have played in all 28 games in program history.
Head coach
Pete Cuadrado is in his 21
st season as a collegiate head coach. Tarleton State is his third program, preceded by Wyoming and North Dakota State. He has accumulated 177 wins in his three stops and has been named coach of the year twice.
Last season, the Texans knocked off SFA and UTRGV on the road to close the regular season.
Last week, Stephen F. Austin dropped its lone contest of the week to TCU, 3-1. SFA built a tough non-conference schedule filled with four Big 12 opponents: Houston, Oklahoma State, Texas and TCU.
The Lumberjacks have used a trio of goalkeepers, but Lydia Sattler has been the primary choice in net. She has totaled 29 saves in seven starts tallying a 3.11 GAA and is responsible for the only W this season. SFA has tallied four goals this season, with three different scorers knotted with one apiece. The fourth goal was recorded as a team goal.
Head Coach Tony Minatta is in his fourth season with the team. SFA finished seventh in the WAC last season with a 5-6 conference record, one spot out of a WAC tournament berth.
UTRGV enters WAC play, 2-4-2. The Vaqueros will open conference play against Abilene Christian on Friday before hosting the Texans on Sunday. Last Thursday the Vaqueros went tied Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 1-1 in their lone match of the week.
UTRGV's scoring attack is led by Anna Hansson and Ana Recarte-Pacheco each tallying a pair of goals. Emilia Compian has been the primary goalkeeper this season with 6 starts. She has posted a 1.15 GAA with a win and 11 saves.
Head Coach Mark Foster is entering his first season with the Vaqueros, after four seasons with the Little Rock Trojans. He guided the program to its first-ever Sun Belt Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018.
Tarleton State will conclude its three-match road trip next Sunday at Abilene Christian. First kick is slated for 5 p.m. at Elmer Gray Stadium.
