STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton Athletics will welcome back the radio duo of 105.3 The Fan's RJ Choppy and Bobby Belt in a month to help lead the Tarleton Sports Network football broadcast on Nov. 16 against Abilene Christian, Tarleton State announced on Wednesday.
Choppy and Belt are co-hosts of the popular "Shan & RJ" show on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas-Fort Worth. They will serve as special guest color commentators for the game on the radio broadcast on Nov. 16. Kyle Masters, the regular color analyst, has generously stepped aside to make this special broadcast possible.
The invitation to have Choppy and Belt join the Tarleton Sports Network is part of an ongoing partnership between Tarleton Athletics and the "Shan & RJ" show. Byron Anderson, Associate Athletic Director for External Operations and the voice of the Tarleton Football team, also had the duo in Stephenville for the Texan Men's Basketball win against Grand Canyon in February, with Choppy serving as the analyst on the television broadcast.
"I'm incredibly excited to have RJ and Bobby join us for this game," said Anderson. "Their presence on the broadcast continues the great partnership we've developed with the morning show and brings a new level of energy to our coverage. It's going to be a fantastic experience for Tarleton fans and TOLOs."
Tarleton State's game on Nov. 16 against ACU will kick off at 6 p.m., with the pregame show "Countdown to Kickoff" beginning at 5:30 p.m. Hosted by Ty Walker, the pregame will set the stage for what promises to be an exciting night of football. Tarleton fans can tune in to the broadcast on the Tarleton Sports Network and 90.5FM KTRL.
