Texan Soccer can clinch WAC Tournament berth on Sunday against Southern Utah

Free Soctoberfest pint glasses and Auntie Anne’s accompany dueling mechanical bulls

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Soccer can possibly clinch a bid into the 2024 WAC Tournament in Sunday's matinee match against Southern Utah at 1 p.m. at the Tarleton Soccer Complex.

The Tarleton Soccer Complex will host its second annual Soctoberfest. Fans will be able to receive a free co-branded Soctoberfest and Focus Care Partners pint glass and Auntie Anne's pretzels. Prior to kickoff, fans will have the opportunity to ride dueling mechanical bull starting at 11:30 a.m.
 
Tarleton could potentially clinch their first bid to the WAC Soccer Tournament on Sunday. The Texans can clinch a berth to the Tournament for the first time with a win over Southern Utah and a Utah Tech victory. Any other combination of results, the Texans will be playing against ACU for one of the final two spots in the WAC Tournament. The four teams in the bottom half of the standings will all play each other in the final three games of the season. Currently, the Texans are in fifth in the WAC with three points. The top six teams will earn a spot in the 2024 WAC Tournament in Abilene, Texas.
 
The Purple and White lead the WAC with a .500 shot accuracy. TSU ranks second in the WAC in total goals (26), points (71), and fouls (6.88). Tarleton is third in the WAC with 1.53 goals per game. The Texan goalkeepers rank 17th in the nation and leads the WAC with a .857 save percentage. The staff is 32nd in the country with 6.00 saves per game, which tops the WAC.
 
Goalkeeper Mikayla Kendall has totaled 90 saves, the most in the conference and ranks 10th in the NCAA. She is second among WAC goalies with 1370 minutes played and four shutouts. She also has two combined shutouts with fellow keeper Rylie Bloomfield.  Her 0.985 GAA is fourth in the league. She ranks 21st in the nation and second in the WAC with an .857 save percentage. The junior ranks ninth among active D1 goalies with 5.41 career saves per game. She is also 22nd with 276 total saves.
 
Stevie Reynolds is currently tied for single season shot program record with 28 by Avery Harr last season. She is also second in program history with 16 shots on goal in a single season. Jenaya Brown has totaled 44 shots in her three years as a Texan, the second most in program history. She is five shots shy of tying Harr's career program record of 49. Jaycie Bass is the new career assists leader for the Texans totaling eight in her three seasons surpassing Kiki's Baurmann's previous record of seven.

Head coach Pete Cuadrado is in his 21st season as a collegiate head coach with Tarleton his third stop on his journey. He started his career at North Dakota State before spending time at Wyoming. During his career, he has amassed 184 wins, with 14 of those coming in the first three seasons of the Tarleton program.
 
The Texans will honor its four seniors on Senior Day next Saturday against Abilene Christian. Seniors will be honored on the pitch prior to kick, which is slated for 7 p.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Kyle Crews on the call.
