Texans’ homestand ends with suspended play due to weather

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Tennis finally got things underway just before 2 p.m. after weather delayed the original 11 a.m. start, but weather struck again to suspend the match in-between doubles and singles play.

The Texans came into the match against Texas State with a perfect 5-0 record looking to add to their terrific season. Tarleton State got things rolling in doubles action winning on court 2 and 3 earning the doubles point putting the Texans up 1-0 over the Bobcats.

Clara Sobius and Elsa Boisson secured a 6-3 win followed by a 6-2 win by Emma Persson and Noelia Lorca putting the Texans up 2-0 winning the doubles point.

After securing the doubles point, the Texans went into singles action with all the momentum on their side. It would be short lived as play would be suspended due to weather.

It is uncertain at this point if the match will be rescheduled.

The Texans will now hit the road and be in action on Thursday at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, at 1 p.m.
