TYLER, Texas – The Texans look to be unfazed up to this point as they have now won six straight to open the season. This marks the best start for the program in at least the past 10 years.
The Texans have now outscored their opponents 36-6 through six matches.
Maretha Burger and
Martha Makantasi continue to dominate in doubles action boasting a perfect 6-0 record.

Elianne Douglas-Miron. "We competed hard and had some greats wins in singles and doubles. I'm looking forward to some more good tennis tomorrow and Saturday."
Doubles
Noelia Lorca and
Emma Persson earned the first doubles win for the Texans on Court 3 giving them the early 1-0 doubles advantage. They defeated Maike Tiemersma and Beyza Yaniklar 6-1 marking the pair's fourth win extending their total to 4-0.
The dynamic duo of Burger and Makantasi does it once again on Court 1 moving to a perfect 6-0 on the season after winning their match 6-3. The pair defeated Candy Wai and Natalia Michta putting the Texans up 2-0 securing the doubles point. The Purple and White has yet to lose a doubles point this season moving to 6-0.
Elsa Boisson and
Clara Sobius on court 2 fell for the first time this season as partners after winning two together. They fell 6-3 to Amelia Devlin and Zoi Spyrou.
Singles
Sobius got things going for the Texans in singles action on court 4 winning her match in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 over Devlin. She is now 4-2 on the season after dropping her first two singles matches of the year.
Persson got things back on track winning 6-4, 6-1 after dropping her last match to Oral Roberts. She defeated Wai and is now 4-2 on the season in the No. 1 position.
Lorca keeps her hot streak alive moving to 6-0 after a 6-2, 6-4 win over Tiemersma. She earned the fourth point for the Texans on Court 5 securing their sixth straight win and keeping the perfect season going.
Boisson extended her win streak to three after her singles win on Court 2 Thursday afternoon in east Texas. She now moves to 4-2 on the season following the 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Spyron.
Lorca isn't the only one sporting an undefeated record this season. Makantasi took the win on Court 3 for the Texans moving her to a perfect 6-0 on the season as well. She defeated Michta 6-4, 7-6 (1).
Burger rounded things out for the Texans on Court 6 completing the sweep and moving the Texans' record to a 6-0, the best start in at least a decade. She is now 5-1 after the hard fought 6-2, 7-5 win over Yaniklar.
The Texans will have a quick turnaround as they head further east into Louisiana as they will take on Louisiana Tech on Friday at 12 p.m CT.
