STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Texan Football Fieldhouse received a game-changing renovation ahead of the 2023 season, and Tarleton State University has earned a distinguished award for making it one of the top venues across all of college football.
 
Tarleton State University's Fieldhouse Renovation project was named a 2024 Distinguished Building Award Recipient by the TEXO Construction Association. The 16,000 square foot fieldhouse completed its renovations ahead of the 2023 football season. These additions include a multi-purpose room, nutrition bar, film room, coaching offices, equipment room, an academic advising office, and a full-service barber shop.
 
These awards are recognized as some of the most prestigious awards in the nation. Not only is TEXO the largest construction industry trade association in Texas (affiliated with ABC and AGC), they also complete more than $15 billion of work annually.
 
"This was such a dynamic project that further elevates our standing nationally with athletic facilities," said Tarleton Assistant Vice President for Campus Operations David Martin. "We want to thank our Operations Planning, Design, and Construction team, SSC, and The Christman Company for their commitment to excellence. The Christman Company stepped up to not only make the project successful, but also delivered high quality work on time with minimal impacts to our student-athletes and athletic staff."
 
Tarleton State unveiled the renovated Texan Football Fieldhouse in August, a building that enhances recruiting, as well as the student-athlete and coaching experience.
 
"These renovations will do wonders for us in recruiting and will be a game-changer moving forward," said head coach Todd Whitten when the renovations were completed. "From the great team room, to a high-quality film room, down to the barber shop that I know players will enjoy, we have further elevated ourselves in recruiting and giving players a wonderful college football experience."
 
In 2021, Tarleton opened its multi-million dollar field house and locker room. The facility also includes a unified locker room, training room, hydro room and equipment space.
