STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Plans can officially be made surrounding the Tarleton State Football 2024 season opener, as the kickoff time and broadcast details were announced on Thursday.
 
Tarleton State's home opener against McNeese will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Aug. 24 at Memorial Stadium. This will be a nationally broadcast game on ESPNU, the first time Texan Football will play on linear television on the ESPN family of networks.
 
The matchup between the Texans and Cowboys is one of just seven Week 0 games across NCAA Division I between FBS and FCS. Tarleton State was previously scheduled to host its home opener on Sept. 14 against McNeese, but the event date was changed to Aug. 24, announced on May 15.
 
Tarleton State University begins classes on Aug. 22, so students will need to wait just a couple of days before packing Memorial Stadium. Tarleton State will launch a campaign soon to sell out Memorial Stadium and create one of the best gameday atmospheres in Texan Football history.
