STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State Track and Field is set to open its 2025-26 indoor slate just north at the OU Winter Field Fest Invitational on Friday afternoon in Norman, Okla. at the Mosier Indoor Track Facility.

The Texans will be sending six athletes to open their indoor season in 2025, with the rest opening after the winter break in January. Lokesh Sathyanathan and Sir Jonathan Sims will be the first pair of athletes to compete in the men's long jump at 5 p.m. The duo will be followed by Colton Andres making his collegiate debut in the high jump with Davi Torres. Sofia DeGroot and MacKenzie Hill will close the night at 6:30 p.m. competing in the women's long jump. Live result links will be added when they become available. There will be no live stream.

Last season was a very successful first year for head coach Bobby Carter. The Texans sent four individuals to the NCAA Indoor National Championships. Senior Gabriele Tosti and freshman Prestina Ochonogor each earned the program's first NCAA Division I First Team All-American honors. Ochonogor finished eighth in the women's long jump and Tosti finished sixth in the men's triple jump. Lokesh Sathyanathan and Victoria Cameron each earned Second Team All-American honors.

Throughout the 2024-25 indoor season, the Texans set 12 new school records and over 40 new top 10 best performances in program history this season. At the 2025 WAC Indoor Championships, the Texan women posted a program-best second place finish with the men finishing fourth, the two best finishes in program history. Sofia DeGroot and Sir Jonathan Sims were each named the WAC's Most Outstanding Field Athletes at the end of the meet. The Texans won six indoor individual titles, set a pair of new WAC Championship meet records and a new all-time WAC record. The Purple and White had 41 All-WAC performances and set nine new school records.

The Texans also made their first appearance at the NCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships. Tarleton State had a pair earn First Team All-American honors, Prestina Ochonogor and Lokesh Sathyanathan. Five athletes also earned Second Team All-American honors including Victoria Cameron in the 100-meter finals and the Women's 4x100 meter relay team. Sir Jonathan Sims earned a pair of All-American Honorable Mention awards.

Tarleton State will be back in action on Jan. 16-17 at the Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech. The meet will be held at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Tex.
