Tarleton State Baseball set to face Kansas State on Wednesday evening

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Tarleton State Baseball (9-12) will clash against their fourth Power Four opponent of the year when they take on Kansas State (12-7) at the Tarleton State Baseball Complex at 6 p.m.

OPPONENT SCOUTING REPORT:
  • The Wildcats swept their most recent series against the Utah Utes after losing two consecutive games to Creighton and Omaha.
  • Kansas State has appeared in the NCAA College World Series five times since 2009.
  • The Wildcats are two-time NCAA regional champions.
  • Last season, K-State made their second super regional appearance in program history, falling to No. 1 seed Virginia in Charlottesville.
  • The Wildcats have two players batting over .400, Maximus Martin (.433) and AJ Evasco (.429).

MCCLOUD REGAINS CONTROL OF THE TEXAN LEADERBOARD:
  • Following last weekend against LMU, Slade McCloud leads the Texans with a .380 batting average.
  • McCloud is the only Texan to register at least 30 hits in the 2025 season.
  • The Robinson, Texas, native is tied for the most steals on the team with nine.
  • McCloud has totaled six multiple-hit performances in six of his last eleven games.
  • The senior ranks second among Tarleton State in on-base percentage (.420).
LORCH REMAINS STRONG SINCE RETURNING:
  • Following his return from an injury on opening weekend, Carson Lorch has registered a hit in six of his seven appearances.
  • Last weekend against the Lions, Lorch had two consecutive games with a double.
  • The junior recorded four RBIs through three games in Los Angeles.
