ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • This is the second all-time meeting and first in Stephenville. Tarleton State won 2-1 on Sept. 24 earlier this year, with goals by Adelaide Wyrzynski and Jessica Baires, two assists for Ava D'Costa.
  • These teams are separated by three points in the UAC Red Division. If Central Arkansas wins and Abilene Christian loses against Little Rock, then UCA will win the Red Division and the No. 1 seed.
  • UCA is 1-4-4 on the road this season, its lone win at West Georgia.

QUICK HITS
  • With a win Sunday, Tarleton State will win the UAC Red Division and clinch the No. 1 seed in the UAC Women's Soccer Championship. The No. 1 seed automatically advances the team to the semifinals, with that match Nov. 11.
  • If the Texans draw on Sunday, then they need ACU to draw or lose to Little Rock to win the UAC Red Division and clinch the No. 1 seed. If the Texans lose on Sunday, they will be either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the tourney.
  • The Texans just swept their three-match homestand with three shutouts, outscoring opponents 10-0.
  • This has already been the best season in program history. The Texans have earned their most conference wins, they have scored their most goals in a single-season in program history, and have secured their best winning percentage in a single-season in program history. The Texans have clinched their berth into the UAC Women's Soccer Championship, their second postseason berth in program history, the other in 2024.
  • Since Aug. 30, the Texans have suffered just one loss, going 7-1-6 over the 14-match stretch.
  • Jessica Baires is one of the best players in the nation. Across the UAC, Baires is first in total assists at 10 (tied-fifth in D1), first in assists per match at 0.56 (18th), first in total points at 30 (tied-13th), first in points per match at 1.67 (tied-31st), and first in total goals at 10 (tied-32nd). She was just named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week after a five-point match on Sunday (two goals, one assist).
