STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Beach Volleyball announced on Wednesday that the Texans have added transfer Payton Deidesheimer, who played one season of indoor volleyball at Middle Tennessee after two beach seasons and three indoor seasons at Austin Peay.
Deidesheimer (5-11) will be part of Tarleton State's 2026-27 roster.
She spent the fall 2025 semester with Middle Tennessee, playing her lone season there in indoor volleyball, where she had the fourth most kills on the team (180). She was named to the Miami (OH) Invitational All-Tournament Team, and altogether on the year, started 22 matches and played in 96 sets, totaling 180 kills, 56 blocks (third on team) and 209.5 points. She logged a season-high 15-kill match against Evansville on Aug. 30, finishing with five double-digit kill matches the year.
Deidesheimer spent 2022-24 at Austin Peay, playing three indoor volleyball seasons and two beach seasons from 2023-24. In 2024, she earned five wins on the year, four at the No. 4 position, and helped the Govs beat Eastern Kentucky 3-2 in the ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship with a win at No. 5. In her three indoor seasons in Clarksville, Tennessee, Deidesheimer played in 55 matches and 164 sets, totaling 330 kills and 75 blocks. Her best season was in 2024, when she finished with 219 kills and 64 blocks. During that year, she matched her career-high in kills with 17 at Bellarmine, posting a .441 hitting percentage. As a Gov, she was named to the Carrie Yerty Classic All-Tournament Team and Lindenwood Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Deidesheimer is a West Chester, Ohio, native, who played middle blocker at Bishop Fenwick High School in Franklin, Ohil. She led Bishop Fenwick's indoor team to the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II State Championship in 2019. She helped the Falcons capture four straight conference titles, three district championships and a pair of regional champions in her prep career, named First Team All-Conference and All-District as a senior. She was also named a Division II All-Ohio Honorable Mention by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association, posting 219 kills, 40 digs and 48 blocks in 77 sets as a senior. She also played eight years of club volleyball for ElevationVBC.
Deidesheimer will finish her undergraduate degree in exercise science this May, then pursue either her MBA or a master's degree in kinesiology and sports administration. She made the dean's list four times at Austin Peay, the athletic director's honor roll once and was named to the Academic All-District ASUN Team.
