STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The continued inclement weather in the state of Texas has forced another postponement. Tarleton State Baseball's previously scheduled Tuesday game at Incarnate Word has been postponed, the Texans announced on Monday.
The Texans and Cardinals will no longer play on Tuesday, and instead have rescheduled Tuesday's game to May 5 at Sullivan Field in San Antonio.
Tuesday was scheduled to be the second meeting between Tarleton State and UIW in a two-week span. The Texans erupted for 11 runs in the seventh inning in the first meeting between the two teams on Feb. 24, capping off a 17-5 run-rule victory for the Purple and White.
Tarleton State went a perfect 5-0 last week, winning its first-ever Power Four conference home game, and its second-ever Power Four conference game overall, defeating Baylor 6-5 on Tuesday. The Texans swept New Mexico in a four-game series for the second straight year, improving to 8-0 all-time against the Lobos. New Mexico entered the series at 12-1 overall, ending it 12-5.
At 11-5 overall, Tarleton State will look ahead to its next games at home, a three-game series Friday-Sunday against Houston Christian. The Texans and Huskies will square off on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.
