STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Women's Soccer head coach Erik Solberg has announced his coaching staff ahead of his first season in Stephenville, as he has added Chris Lawson and Sadé Boswell as assistant coaches.
 
"I am excited to welcome Chris Lawson and Sadé Boswell to our coaching staff," Solberg said. "They are both tremendous fits for Tarleton State. Each of them brings over a decade of collegiate coaching experience to our program, and will bring energy and a growth mindset to our program. Additionally, both have experience as a collegiate head coach and have spent significant portions of their respective careers recruiting the state of Texas, which will be a major asset as we build a championship caliber program."
 
Lawson joins the Texans with over a decade of collegiate coaching experience. He has served as an assistant coach for UT Tyler Women's Soccer (2025), head coach for Ouachita Baptist Men's Soccer (2020-23), assistant coach for Ouachita Baptist Men's Soccer (2018-20), assistant coach for Ouachita Baptist Women's Soccer (2018-23), and assistant coach for Doane Women's Soccer (2015-18).
 
"Chris is a veteran coach with a strong acumen for training goalkeepers and utilizing data analysis," Solberg said. "He understands the tactical demands of a high-level program and his ability to integrate modern analytics into our training and match preparation will be invaluable to our team's growth. He is a relation-minded coach with high expectations that mirror my own and I look forward to working alongside him."
 
Lawson helped the UT Tyler Patriots finish 11-3-5 overall last season, the team's most wins in a season since 2018. During his tenure with Ouachita Baptist, Lawson coached nine all-conference selections.
 
Lawson, a Lynchburg, Virginia, native, graduated from Bryan College in 2014 with a degree in business management before earning his master's degree in management at Doane in 2020. Lawson was a goalkeeper at Bryan College from 2010-14.
 
Boswell joins the Texans with also 10-plus years of collegiate coaching experience. She spent the last four years as head coach for Missouri Southern Women's Soccer, an NCAA Division II program in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). Prior to Missouri Southern (2022-25), Boswell was an assistant coach for Midwestern State Women's Soccer (2020-21), assistant coach for Drury Women's Soccer (2019), assistant coach for Rose State College Women's Soccer (2015-18), and graduate assistant coach at Sioux Falls (2013-14).
 
"Sadé is an accomplished coach with a strong track record of player development," Solberg said. "She cares deeply about her student-athletes and has a clear vision for how to build a competitive culture that brings the best out in each individual. Her ability to translate that vision into daily training sessions will be a huge asset to our program. I am excited to bring her and her experience to our staff."
 
At Midwestern State, Boswell helped the Mustangs to a 12-5-3 record her final season there in 2021, a season that included a trip to the Lone Star Conference Tournament, as well as a bid to the NCAA Tournament. During her tenure at Rose State College, the Raiders finished as District runners-up in 2017 before winning the Region II Championship in 2018 and earning an NJCAA national ranking. Boswell helped coach an All-American goalkeeper at RSC in 2017 and an All-American forward in 2018.
 
Boswell was born in Germany but grew up in St. Robert, Missouri. Boswell played four collegiate years, two at Northeastern State (2010-11) and two years for Neosho County Community College (2009-10). She graduated from Northeastern State with a degree in physical education in 2012 and earned a master's degree in educational administration in 2015.
