• This is the third meeting and second in Houston. The Cougars are 2-0-0 in such matches, winning 4-1 in Houston in 2023 and 1-0 in Stephenville in 2024. Isa Bergeron-Prejean (90), Adelaide Wyrzynski (45) and Jessica Baires (17) all played significant minutes in the 2024 match.
• Houston is 1-0-0 at home this year and 1-0-3 over its last four home matches. The Cougars beat Northwestern State 5-0 on Thursday at home.

This marked the fourth time in five playing seasons the Texans have opened the season on the road, and they remained undefeated (1-0-3). Zahra Friess scored in the seventh minute, the quickest goal to start a season for the Texans in program history, and the Texans' two goals on the match marked a new program-best for a season-opener.
