Junior (2015):
Academic All-LSC for the second straight season … LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll … Started all 10 games as a linebacker in his first year in the new position … Led the team with 95 total tackles, including 43 solo stops … Had 9.0 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, and a blocked kick … In his first career game as a college linebacker, Burtscher made 14 tackles, including three for a loss and two sacks with a blocked kick against Findlay on Sept. 12 … Had six games of double-digit tackles, including each of the final five games.
 
Sophomore (2014):
Academic All-LSC … LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Carried the ball 62 times for 321 yards and three touchdowns as a running back in the Tarleton offense… Scored two touchdowns, including the game-winning score, in the season-opening victory over West Texas A&M on Sept. 13… Had a season-high 67 yards on seven carries against Florida Tech at AT&T Stadium on Sept. 20… Transitioned from running back to linebacker during the spring and will play on the Texan defense as a junior.
 
Freshman (2013):
LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Saw action in five games as a true freshman running back for the Texans… Had 82 yards and a touchdown on the ground on 15 carries... His first career touchdown came in Tarleton’s 45-20 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville in the game that secured Tarleton is third LSC Championship in school history… Had one catch for 14 yards.
 
Glen Rose High School:
Recorded 163 carries for 1,424 yards and 22 touchdowns in his senior season at Glen Rose… Also had 39 receptions for 718 yards and six touchdowns… As a defensive back for the Tigers, he had 51 tackles, two for a loss, to go along with two sacks and two interceptions… Blocked two field goals… 7-3A Offensive MVP… District Freshman of the Year… 8-3A Defensive MVP in basketball… THSCA academic all-state… APSE 3A honorable mention all-state running back as a senior… Played for head coach, Tommy Dunn.

Is a 2013 graduate of Glen Rose High School… Son of Shelly and Robert Burtscher… Has four siblings: Lacy, Kelly, Amy and Robert… Engaged to marry his fiancé, Shelby … Major is Bio-Medical Science … Born Dec. 18.
