Biography

Abilene Christian (2020-21) 
Appeared in 10 games for the Wildcats during her freshman season … Recorded a career-high four rebounds in a victory over MSU Texas on Nov. 29. 

Centerville High School 
Earned four varsity letters in basketball and served as team captain for head coach Rick Dickson … Averaged a double-double (18 ppg, 10.5 rpg) as a senior in 2020 … As a junior, averaged 14 points and nine rebounds per game … Was named to the All-State team her senior year … Also selected as District Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 … All-District first team selection as a sophomore, junior and senior … Garnered All-Region accolades during her junior and senior seasons … Led CHS to an 111-25 overall record from 2016-2020 … Boasts a career-high of 36 points scored … Also played volleyball and competed in track and field … Played three seasons of varsity volleyball for head coach Cauladia Mordecai, serving as team captain … Received All-District first team and All-State honorable mention recognition … On the track, lettered three times under coach Kyle Hardee …  Was a two-time Area champion in the 4x400m relay and competed at Regionals as a junior and senior … Owns a personal record of 1:03 in the 400m dash … Earned numerous academic awards throughout high school … Chosen as the Brazos Valley Classroom Champion … Named an Academic All-State athlete all four years … Ranked No. 3 in her graduating class … Served as the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at CHS as well.

2020 graduate of Centerville HS in Centerville, Texas … Daughter of Darrell and Jannis Matthews … Has four brothers, Erin, Jerry, Chris and Cody and two sisters, Stephanie and Rona … Played one season of club basketball for the Lone Star Magic … Helped the team win the Atlanta Peach Splash Championship … Was club teammates with Averee Kleinhans, who currently plays basketball for Northern Colorado … As a younger player, she always dreamed of playing basketball close to home … Excited to compete in the WAC because, “I get to live my dream and play in front of home crowds in that four schools are less than three hours away from my hometown” … Majoring in nursing … Born Feb. 1.
