When the 2023 baseball season begins, Connor Flanagan will begin his fourth season with the Texans and second as the Volunteer Assistant Coach. He will also serve as the team's pitching coach in 2023 for a second season.
Flanagan served as the pitching coach for the first time in the 2022 season. He helped multiple pitchers to career outings while also coaching up runners at first base.
Flanagan coached his first full season with the Texans and their first at the Division I level. The Texans finished 20-35 in the 2021 season where for the second season he assisted with the pitching staff and the bullpen coach.
His debut season at Tarleton was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tarleton finished that shortened season with a 14-10 record. Flanagan primarily assisted with the pitching staff and served as the team’s bullpen coach.
Flanagan was a two-year letterman for the Texans from 2018-19. He appeared in 37 games over two seasons. As a reliever in 2018, he was a pivotal bullpen piece for Tarleton’s run to the LSC Tournament Championship and NCAA Regional Tournament appearance. He was 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 26.0 innings out of the bullpen with 26 strikeouts. In 2019, Flanagan pitched in 17 games with five starts and struck out 41.
Flanagan is currently pursuing a master’s degree in kinesiology.
