When the 2023 baseball season begins, Dallas Reed will begin his second season as an assistant baseball coach for the Texan Baseball program. He serves as the recruiting coordinator for Tarleton, as well as helping with the hitting and defense.
In the 2022 season, Reed helped the Texan offense reach new heights as they hit 69 home runs, the third best in the WAC and most for Tarleton since the 2018 season. Reed also coached several players to career highs in multiple batting statistics. Most notably London Green who finished with 17 home runs, which is the second best in Tarleton history for a single season. The Texas finished 14-17 on their home turf, with the 14 home wins being the most since the 2018 season.

Reed comes to Tarleton from Pittsburg State University, where he served as the assistant coach for the Gorillas for three seasons. During his time at Pitt State, he worked with the hitters, infielders and coached first base.

His time as a coach followed a five-year playing career at Mt. San Antonio College and Pitt State. Reed was a second-team All-South Coast Conference second baseman at Mt. Sac.

At Pitt State, where Reed played for current head coach Aaron Meade, he was a two-time All-MIAA and second-team All-Region honoree. Reed started in all 96 games during his time with the Gorillas with 96 runs scored and 88 runs batted in.

Reed graduated in 2018 from Pittsburg State University with a bachelor’s in business management. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in kinesiology from Tarleton.
