• Was instrumental in a couple of Texan victories in 2009, including catching a key pass in the first round playoff game at Texas A&M-Kingsville
• He then held the ball for the 64-yard field goal by Garrett Lindholm to send the game into overtime which the Texans eventually won
• He also forced a fumble on a kickoff with 12 seconds left in the game against Midwestern State and held the ensuing 55-yard field goal that won the game as time expired
• Recorded 17 receptions for 255 yards
• Averaged 15.0 yards per catch and 19.6 yards per game
• Served as the holder for the special teams

• Played in 10 games and had one catch for 12 yards as a redshirt freshman

• Redshirted during the 2007 season

• Selected as all-district quarterback as a junior and senior
• Three-time academic all-district team selection
• Recorded 14 touchdowns as a junior and 15 touchdowns as a senior
