2012: Saw action in 5 games for the Texans… Finished the season 102-for-154 with 1,285 yards with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions… Set a school record with his 66.2 completion percentage and had a 152.10 efficiency rating… Threw five touchdowns in his first collegiate start on the road against Incarnate Word... His 99-yard touchdown pass to Cordell Valentine in a 38-28 win over North Alabama set a school record for the longest play from scrimmage...  Also set a new school record with 460 passing yards against Angelo State... Was named an All-State Good Works Team nominee.
 
2011: Appeared in three games...  Went 1-for-3 in his appearance against Millsaps College as part of a 44-3 victory.   
 
2010: Was back-up quarterback.   
 
2009: Was back-up quarterback... Appeared in one game.   
 
2008: Redshirted his first year at Tarleton.   
 
High School: Graduated from McNeil High School in 2008... Named team captain as a senior... Played football for two years... Played for Head Coach Robert Wilcox.   
 
Personal: Son of Becki Russell... Has six siblings, Zach, Nick, Bailey, Colton, Dayne, and Major... Majoring in kinesiology... Born on Oct. 23, 1989.
