In his current role, Reisman serves as administrative oversight to multiple areas within the athletics department including athletic performance and sports medicine. He is also the sport supervisor for the women’s basketball, cross country and track and field programs.

Reisman moved over to athletic administration after 18 seasons as a coach for Tarleton State men’s basketball, including a stint as the 14th head coach in program history from 2018-20. Chris Reisman took over as head coach in 2018 once his father, Lonn Reisman, retired from coaching the Texans after 30 years at the position. Chris Reisman compiled a 39-22 overall record in his two seasons as head coach and took the Texans to the Lone Star Conference Tournament both years. After coaching, he spent one season as the assistant athletic director for student-athlete development and led the Tarleton State's protocols for navigating the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-21.

After a four-year playing career for the Texans, Chris Reisman joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant from 2002-04 and then was hired as a full-time assistant coach from 2004-06. Chris Reisman was promoted to associate head coach for 12 seasons from 2006-18 where he was the director of recruiting, scouting, academic counseling and individual development in addition to on-the-floor coaching and assisting in the day-to-day operations before being elevated to head coach.

In his 18 years as a coach at Tarleton State, Chris Reisman was a part of 453 wins and the Texans had a winning percentage of .743. With him on staff, the Texans made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, won four NCAA Division II South Central regional championships and made two trips to the NCAA Division II Final Four. Tarleton State also won eight LSC championships and three LSC tournament championships.

Chris Reisman served on the LSC Commissioners Honor Roll as well as the secretary of the Tarleton State established “Athletes Committed to Education” (ACE) organization. For three years, he served on the Student Athletic Advisory Council at Tarleton State. He also served as a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) as well as the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC).

Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Chris Reisman graduated from Stephenville High School in 1997. He was a three-year basketball letterman for the Yellow Jackets, earning first team all-district and all-region honors. He led his senior team to the area finals, the furthest it had been in over 30 years.

Chris Reisman, who earned a bachelor’s degree in animal biology from Tarleton State in May 2002, completed a master’s degree in physical education in the spring of 2004.

He lives in Stephenville with his son, Rush.
