TexAnns fall to 1-2 in LSC play after falling to UCO

EDMOND, Okla. – The Tarleton TexAnn volleyball team dropped their Lone Star Conference match against Central Oklahoma in straight sets (17-25, 17-25, 23-25) at Hamilton Field House on Thursday.

 

The loss dropped the TexAnns to 5-11 overall and 1-2 in the LSC.  The Bronchos snapped a two-match losing streak to the TexAnns while improving to 7-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play.  UCO remained undefeated (7-0) against the TexAnns while playing in Edmond, Okla.

 

The Bronchos won both of the first and second sets by eight points.  Tarleton's offense was limited to just .077 attacking percentage in the first set and -.061 attacking percentage in the second set.  The TexAnns had just six kills to UCO's 13 kills in the second set.

 

Tarleton was able to out-hit the Bronchos in the third and final set, 19 kills on .224 hitting compared to 13 kills on .222 hitting, but UCO came away with the victory, winning by two points 25-23.

 

Tarleton finished the match hitting just .102, while Bronchos hit a combined .245.

 

Rachel Wolf led the TexAnns with 10 kills.  Shea McBrearty led the team with 14 digs.

 

UCO's Kristen Wilson led the Bronchos with 10 digs.

 

The TexAnns will continue their two-match road swing against Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday.  First service is set for 2 p.m.
