STEPHENVILLE – The Tarleton Texan men's basketball will return to action after a 23-day layoff when the Texans host Dallas Christian at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 in Wisdom Gym.
The Texans are 6-2 after losing their last game to Southwestern Oklahoma on Dec. 7 in Weatherford, Okla., 76-63. Tarleton shot just 31 percent as SWOSU averaged 57 percent from the floor.
In the loss, Tarleton was led by Corin Henry with 15 points while Devon Hills (12), Wale Oguonye (10) and Carrington Tankson (10) also had double digits. Henry and Wes Dipprey led the team with six rebounds each. Tarleton had a season-high 18 turnovers.
This season, Tarleton is led by Henry with 13.6 points per game and Hills with 11.4 points per outing. Tankson is third with 9.3 points per contest. Henry also leads the team with 33 assists and 18 steals while Fabian Wilson and Nick Mosley each have six blocks to top the squad. Dipprey leads the team with a 6.4 rebounds per game average and is followed by Donta Smith with 4.3 boards per outing.
Tarleton is averaging .453 from the floor, .353 from the three-point arc and .687 from the charity stripe while opponents are shooting .353 from the field, .330 from the arc and .667 from the line. The Texans are outscoring foes 81.5 to 49.5 and outrebounding them 41.4 to 29.9. Tarleton is outscoring opponents by an average of 38.9 to 20.2 in the first half.

Following the game on Dec. 30, the Texans will play four games in a nine-day span, beginning with Texas A&M-Commerce at home on Jan. 3 before hitting the road for three straight games at Central Oklahoma (Jan. 6), at Northeastern State (Jan. 8) and at Abilene Christian (Jan. 11).
