STEPHENVILLE – The No. 20 Tarleton TexAnn TexAnn Tennis team cruised to a 9-0 non-conference victory over St. Mary's at Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts in Stephenville on Thursday.

The TexAnns then went on to sweep all six singles matches as well. Jaskova, this week's Lone Star Conference player of the week, opened singles play with a (6-1, 6-2) win over Soy, while Freitas downed V. Sholles (6-0, 6-2). Cabanillas eased her way past Ang (6-3, 6-2) and Charlot defeated Kelly Cooper (6-3, 6-1). In the final two pairings of singles, Julen defeated Carmona (8-1) and Prokofeva downed Hernandez (8-2).
“This was another day of tough playing conditions for us, but overall we did well,” Tarleton head tennis coach Lance Drake said. “We handled everything well, including both the weather and our game plan execution. It is always nice to get a regional win and today's match should help us in our preparation for two very important conference matches this weekend.”
The TexAnns return to the court this Friday and Saturday. Tarleton will travel to Durant on Friday to face Southeastern Oklahoma and then will play Central Oklahoma on Saturday.
