Round One Results
GRANBURY – The No. 5 Tarleton TexAnn golf team is in first place after the first day of competition at the Tarleton State University/Coca-Cola Classic at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury.
The TexAnns shot a 296 on Monday and are one stroke ahead of Grand Canyon in second place (297) heading into the final round of competition on Tuesday.
Angelo State (302), Northeastern State (304), Midwestern State (305), Central Oklahoma (310), St. Edward's (311), Cameron (314), West Texas A&M (315) and Western Washington (316) round out the Top 10. Nebraska-Omaha (319), East Central (319), Newman (320), Texas A&M-Commerce (320), Incarnate Word (323), Dallas Baptist (325), Northwood (332) and Southwestern Oklahoma (342) complete the field.
Tarleton is led by Carla Cooper and Katy Ward who are tied for fourth with a 73 each. Jacqueline Lau and Andrea Lowe are tied at No. 12 with a 75 each. Melanie Tham is tied for 52nd with an 81. Candice Brister is tied for 79th with an 86 as an individual medalist.
Round Two will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
