OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Tarleton TexAnn tennis team will head to Oklahoma City, Okla., this week to participate in the 2010 Lone Star Conference Championships hosted by Central Oklahoma.

Matches will be played Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. First round action gets underway at 9:30 a.m. on Friday with the semifinals slated to begin at 2 p.m. The championship match will be played at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The TexAnns finished the regular-season at 12-17 overall and tied for third-place in the LSC with a 4-3 mark in conference play. Tarleton tied with UCO and Cameron for the third-place spot.

Tarleton will be the No. 3 seed in the tournament, by virtue of defeating both UCO (7-2) and Cameron (6-3) earlier this season. The Bronchos defeated the Aggies (6-3) back in March to lock up the No. 4 seed.

Abilene Christian repeated at regular-season champions, going 7-0 in the spring and earning the tournament's No. 1 seed. Northeastern State finished in second-place after going 4-2 in the LSC. Midwestern State finished in sixth-place behind the TexAnns, going 3-4 in conference play. Completing the LSC standings this year was East Central (0-5) and Southeastern Oklahoma (0-6), which ended the season without a win.

The TexAnns will face MSU in the first round on Friday and will get the chance to redeem themselves following a 5-3 loss to the Mustangs back on April 7. Other first round action includes ACU vs. SOSU, NSU vs. ECU, and UCO vs. CU.
