STEPHENVILLE - The No. 8 Texans will welcome Southwestern Assemblies of God Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym. Tarleton enters the game with a 4-1 record while the Lions have not lost a game yet this season.
The host Texans are coming off a huge win over Paul Quinn Tuesday when they defeated the Tigers 81-46. That helped Tarleton overcome their shocking loss to Washburn just one game prior. The last time the Texans lost a game at home, they went on to win the next 20 home contests.
As a team, Tarleton is shooting 45.8 percent from the floor, 30 percent from three-point range and 68.4 percent from the free throw line. The Texans are averaging 68.5 points per game and holding opponents just 52.4 points per game.
Seniors
Fabian Wilson and Chriss Harrell are leading the way offensively with 11.2 points per game, while Zach Nelson is adding 10.5 points each game and Demerius Smith is adding 9.4 points each game.
Wilson also leads the team in rebounds with 8.4 rebounds per contest and has two double-doubles under his belt this year. Shedrick Haynes is the main facilitator with 2.6 assists per game to go with his 2.2 steals each contest.
The Lions are 6-0 on the season and will be looking to make it 7-0 against the Texans. Overall, SAGU is averaging 72.8 points per game and giving up just 61.3 points to opponents.
Dominique Rambo is the Lions' leading scorer with 16 points per game with Ronald Horne and Craig Grigsby contributing double digit points each contest. Nathaniel Ward leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per game while Horne is second with 4.7 each game.
Tip-off is at 7 p.m. in Wisdom Gym and will be the only game of the evening with the TexAnns at their holiday tournament in Colorado.
