STEPHENVILLE - The Tarleton women's tennis team will travel to Dallas Baptist Tuesday and St. Edward's Thursday for a pair of tough matches against quality opponents.
The TexAnns are coming off a big victory over Incarnate Word and will look to pick up another pair of wins over some South Central regional opponents.
Head coach
Lance Drake discussed this week's competition.
"They have very similar lineups," said Drake. "They both have five returners and one newcomer. The newcomer on each team has been a significant contributor playing in the No. 1 or No. 2 spot. They have good depth and both recently defeated No. 21 Central Oklahoma."
Dallas Baptist is expected to compete for a Heartland Conference title after years of development have started producing competitive teams.
St. Edward's is 3-6 on the year, but has played an extremely difficult schedule and has won their last three events.
Head coach Drake also talked about his team heading into the week.
"We are trying to get healthy, but just haven't had any down time," said Drake. "Due to these concerns, we will have to be very disciplined and do the little things in order to pull out these matches."
