STEPHENVILLE - Riding the momentum of a five-game winning streak, Tarleton (16-5, 10-2) will host St. Edward's and Abilene Christian this Homecoming weekend in a pair of major, in-region games at Wisdom Gym.
Tarleton has moved into sole possession of second-place in the Lone Star Conference after winning nine of their last 10 games, including five straight, and are currently one game back of a first-place tie in the LSC.
Katie Covell and Nikki McNorton are leading the TexAnn offense with 216 and 207 kills, respectively, while Stacie Murrah is 17 kills shy of the 200-kill mark for the second straight season.
McNorton also leads the team, among players with at least 50 attack attempts, in hitting percentage at .330 as well as total blocks (113) and blocks per set (1.51). The senior middle blocker's blocks per set numbers lead the conference and are second in the nation.
Also leading the TexAnns are Danielle Barker with 702 assists on the season and Emily Klein with 366 digs.
St. Edward's enters the contest as the second-place team from the Heartland Conference with a 12-5 overall record and a 7-3 record in the conference. The Hilltoppers come into the contest having won two straight.
The Hilltoppers own a 13-4 all-time record over Tarleton, but the TexAnns have won two of the last three with the only loss of that span coming in a five-set heartbreaker last season.
There will be a gift card raffle for the fans at Friday's contest.
Abilene Christian will come to town Saturday for the Homecoming afternoon match against the TexAnns in 'White Out' day. All fans are encouraged to wear white to the match, which begins at 1 p.m.
Tarleton swept the Wildcats in the first meeting between these teams this season, but ACU comes to Stephenville having won five of their last six - entering Friday's contest at Angelo State - including a sweep of West Texas A&M Oct. 13.
