Tarleton State Volleyball plays final regular season road match at ACU Thursday

ABILENE, Texas – Tarleton State meets ACU for the second time this season and plays its conference rival for the final road match of the regular season Thursday at 6 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.

The Texans swept the first matchup 3-0 at Wisdom Gym on Oct. 10. Libero Leddy Rae Guinn is the defending UAC Defensive Player of the Week. She and the Texans will go up against the defending UAC Freshman of the Week, Alyssa Todd.

The Texans are looking to clinch a spot in the UAC Tournament. A win on Thursday paired with a Little Rock loss gets the Texans into the UAC Tournament.

Thursday's match will be available to watch on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided through Sidearm.

LEAVE IT TO LEDDY
  • Tarleton State Volleyball libero Leddy Rae Guinn earned her second United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor in 2026 on Nov. 2.
  • Guinn is the first Texan since 2024 to win multiple defensive weekly honors from a conference in the same season (Emma Halcomb). She was named UAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12 earlier this year.
  • Leading the Texans with 33 digs, she helped Tarleton State to a Division I era program record 109 digs at West Georgia (10/31).
  • Guinn's 33 digs at West Georgia marked the second-most by a Texan in a single match in the Division I era. She previously achieved that mark against Denver on Sept. 11 earlier this season. In addition to nine assists, Guinn also obtained her 1,000th career dig.
  • The product of Stephenville High School picked up her fifth straight match with 20+ digs. She became the first Texan in the Division I era to accomplish that feat. Guinn is also the first Texan in the last decade to have a streak of five straight matches with at least 20 digs.
  • With the Texans having the task of replacing Western Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, Morgan Carter, Guinn has played an important role in filling those shoes in 2026. Guinn leads the Texans in digs and digs per set. while holding a reception percentage of .945.
  • She currently has the second-most single season digs in the Division I era, needing just 43 to break the record in 2026. That mark would also put her in the top 10 in the program's all-time single season digs list.
  • Guinn picked up her first Division I honor in her team's hometown tournament this year, being named to the 2026 Tarleton State Invitational All-Tournament Team. Her 26 digs in the UAC opener were the most by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener in the D1 era. It was the most digs by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener since 2009.
  • At nearby Stephenville High School, Guinn earned Honorable Mention All-State honors (TSWA, 4A) and was named District 6-4A Defensive Player of the Year at libero. She guided her team to a 34-6 record and a Region I-4A Final appearance.
  • Her love for the sport of volleyball began by coming to Tarleton State Volleyball matches as a kid in the old volleyball gym.
PLANNING FOR POSTSEASON
  • Tarleton State currently sits in fifth place in the UAC standings. The top six teams qualify for the UAC Tournament Nov. 19-21.
  • The winner of the UAC Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
  • The Texans can clinch their spot in the conference tournament with a win on Thursday at ACU paired with a Little Rock loss against North Alabama.
  • Tarleton State is seeking its second straight appearance in the conference tournament. The Texans advanced to the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament last season, winning their first D1 conference tournament match in the process.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
  • Tarleton State Volleyball fifth year outside hitter/opposite Madison Rice-Locket leads the Texans in double-doubles in 2026.
  • Rice-Locket came up with her sixth double-double of the season at West Georgia (10/31), collecting 21 digs and 12 kills.
  • The Memphis transfer and Louisville native had six double-doubles in 2025, good for second on the team behind setter Megan Hodges.
  • Rice-Locket recently obtained her 500th career kill in the Purple and White.
  • She was also a JVA All-American and a member of the USA Volleyball U19 National Team. She was ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Kentucky in high school.
