Tarleton State Volleyball plays Halloween road match at West Georgia Saturday

CARROLLTON, Ga. – Tarleton State meets West Georgia for just the second time in program history for a Halloween match on Saturday at 1 p.m. at The Coliseum.

The Texans won the first matchup just nine days earlier 3-1.

Fifth year outside hitter LaNeah Lara is two kills away from obtaining her 1,000th career kill. Libero Leddy Rae Guinn is just 19 digs away from having 1,000 career digs. Guinn has had four straight 20+ dig matches. Another one on Saturday would make her the first Texan in the D1 era to have five straight 20+ dig matches.

Saturday's match will be available to watch on ESPN+ and live stats will be provided through Sidearm.

1K CLUB
  • A trio of Texans have reached or are close to reaching the 1,000 club among different stat categories.
  • Setter Peyton Fadal obtained her 1,000th career assist at UTA (10/20) earlier this season.
  • Outside hitter LaNeah Lara is two kills away from obtaining her 1,000th career kill. She had 491 kills in her lone season at Blinn College.
  • Libero Leddy Rae Guinn is 19 digs away from cracking the 1,000-dig milestone mark. Guinn had 409 digs in her lone season at Lubbock Christian.
LEAVE IT TO LEDDY
  • Stephenville native and libero Leddy Rae Guinn was named United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 12.
  • Guinn, a junior from Stephenville, is the first Texan libero to earn a conference weekly award since 2024 (Emma Halcomb). This is Guinn's first weekly honor at the Division I level.
  • Guinn is just 19 digs away from having her 1,000th career dig. She needs just 76 more digs to break the program's D1 era single season digs record.
  • She is the first Texan since 2020 to have four straight matches with 20+ digs. A 20+ dig match on Saturday would make her the first Texan in the D1 era to accomplish that feat.
  • With the Texans having the task of replacing Western Athletic Conference Libero of the Year, Morgan Carter, Guinn has played an important role in filling those shoes in 2026. Guinn leads the Texans in digs and digs per set.
  • Guinn picked up her first Division I honor in her team's hometown tournament this year, being named to the 2026 Tarleton State Invitational All-Tournament Team.
  • Guinn also had the second-most digs in a match in the Division I era with 33 against Denver (9/11).
  • Her 26 digs in the UAC opener are the most by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener in the D1 era. It was the most digs by a Tarleton State player in a conference opener since 2009.
  • Guinn transferred from Lubbock Christian, where she received multiple conference accolades, including All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention, All-Lone Star Conference Tournament Team honors, Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Week, and Lone Star Conference Setter of the Week.
  • At nearby Stephenville High School, Guinn earned Honorable Mention All-State honors (TSWA, 4A) and was named District 6-4A Defensive Player of the Year at libero. She guided her team to a 34-6 record and a Region I-4A Final appearance.
  • Her love for the sport of volleyball began by coming to Tarleton State Volleyball matches as a kid in the old volleyball gym.
MAGNIFICENT MASSEY
  • Senior setter Alexis Massey has been key in 2026 and has posted career-best numbers.
  • Massey, a transfer from UTEP, was enrolled at Tarleton State but was not on the volleyball team at the start of the 2026 spring season.
  • She signed with the Texans later in the semester.
  • Massey posted the third 20-20 double-double in Tarleton State's Division I era with 28 assists and 23 digs against Denver (9/11)
  • She is just the second player in the Division I era to post a 20-20 double-double in a match (Allison Bryant, 2024).
  • Massey is also the first Texan since 2020 to post double-doubles in each of the first two conference matches.
  • Massey is just 10 service aces away from breaking the program's Division I era single season record.
  • Massey posted a career-high 33 assists and her 12 digs in the UAC opener against UTA (9/22). She along with Madison Rice-Locket are the first duo to have a double-double in a conference opener since 2020.
