STEPHENVILLE – After a tight 3:30 of play, the Tarleton TexAnns (19-6, 16-1) blew Wednesday's game against Eastern New Mexico wide open and cruised to their second win in three days, 73-48 over the Zias (8-15, 6-11).
ENMU came out swinging, scoring a quick three and jumping out to an 8-5 lead.

Kiara Wright, however, quickly turned the tide in the TexAnns' favor and started a 15-0 Tarleton run. The TexAnns held a 20-8 with 12 minutes left in the opening half.
After a Zia layup broke the scoreless run,
Morgan Stehling hit the first of her three 3-pointers on the night to start a quick 8-0 push which extended the TexAnn lead to 28-10 with just under 10 to play.
Tarleton extended its first half lead to as many as 25 and never led by less than 16 over the rest of the opening half.
Lisa Parker started the second half with a 3-ball to keep the good times rolling for Tarleton. The Parker three started an 8-2 run over the first five minutes to give Tarleton it's – what would be – largest lead of the night at 31.
The TexAnns maintained at least a 26-point lead until the 8:29 mark when a jumper and two free throws cut the Zia deficit to 22.
Leading by 21 with 5:51 left,
Tara Towns hit a wide open layup off a pass by
Karli Moore to start an 8-0 run and extend the lead back to 29 with 39 seconds left. ENMU hit four free throws in the final seconds, but the TexAnns cruised to the win.
Shelby and
Peyton Adamson led the team with 12 points each marking 11
th time this season – and second straight game – the Adamson sisters have led the TexAnns in scoring.
Morgan Stehling added 11 off the bench while
Kiara Wright recorded her sixth, and second straight, double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
En route to the win, Shelby and Stehling each moved up the all-time TexAnn lists. Adamson passed Kristen Curtis for second all-time in assists in school history while Stehling's three 3-pointers moved her from a 12
th place tie into 10
th all-time in 3-balls made.
The TexAnns return to the road Saturday for a match-up with West Texas A&M at 4 p.m. in Canyon. With a win Saturday, the TexAnns can clinch at least a share of the Lone Star Conference championship and secure the No. 1 seed in the LSC Championship Tournament in Allen.
