Tarleton State Women’s Basketball releases 2026-27 non-conference schedule

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – Tarleton State Women's Basketball has finalized its 2026-27 non-conference schedule. 

The Texans will play eight home games at the EECU Center in non-conference play along with facing three teams that played in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Texans will also play three other opponents that qualified for postseason play last season. 

Season tickets for Tarleton State Women's Basketball are on sale now and start at just $50. Fans can also buy a combination season ticket for both men's and women's basketball for $125. Fans can click here to reserve their seats today. 

The Texans will play its lone exhibition open to the public on Saturday, Oct. 24 against Cameron at the EECU Center. Tarleton State's season opener takes place in Stephenville, facing Arkansas Pine-Bluff on Wednesday, Nov. 4. 

Tarleton State's first of three NCAA Tournament teams from last year will take place Sunday, Nov. 8, facing TCU in Fort Worth for the second straight season. TCU won its second straight Big 12 Conference regular season title in 2025-26 before advancing to the Elite 8 in last year's March Madness. 

After returning home to face Sul Ross State (Nov. 11), the Texans go on a three-game road trip starting in Austin, Texas. Tarleton State will face Texas on Saturday, Nov. 14, the second time in the last three years the two schools have met. Texas won the SEC Tournament to obtain a No. 1 seed in March Madness last season, reaching the 2026 Final Four. Tarleton State's road trip wraps up in Louisiana, facing Louisiana in Lafayette (Nov. 19) and going to Nicholls (Nov. 21). 

Fans can spend their Black Friday watching the Texans, with Tarleton State opening a three-game homestand on Friday, Nov. 27 against UT Dallas at the EECU Center. The Texans will play its final two home games of the 2026 calendar year against East Texas A&M (11/30) and Schreiner (12/5). 

Following eight days off from games, Tarleton State goes back on the road Sunday, Dec. 13 for a contest in Houston at Texas Southern. The Texans then travel to Texas A&M (12/15), a 2026 WBIT Team, for the second straight season. Tarleton State will play one more road game before the Christmas break, traveling to Dallas Christian on Friday, Dec. 18. This will be the first time the Texans have traveled to a non-Division I opponent since moving to Division I. 

The United Athletic Conference-Atlantic Sun Alliance wraps up non-conference play, with the Texans facing four teams from the Atlantic Sun. Tarleton State will head to Jacksonville, Florida, for a two-game road trip at North Florida (12/29) and Jacksonville (12/31). Jacksonville, the 2026 Atlantic Sun Champions, qualified for its second-ever NCAA Tournament last year. 

Tarleton State opens the 2027 calendar year at the EECU Center, taking on Stetson on Sunday, Jan. 3 and Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Stetson won 20 games last year and earned a bid to the WNIT. Florida Gulf Coast won six straight conference titles and went to five straight NCAA Tournaments in the 2020s, advancing to the second round in 2022-23. 

The Texans will play in the UAC for the first time in 2026-27. The UAC announced its conference schedule earlier this summer, with the Texans set to host eight home conference games at the EECU Center starting Jan. 9. The UAC Tournament will take place March 10-14, 2027 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. 

Tarleton State has picked up over 1,000 wins as a senior college, with the Texans obtaining the program's 1,000th win on Jan. 31 earlier this year. The Texans made their second straight WAC Semifinal after an upset win over Utah Valley. Tarleton State returns three letterwinners from the previous season, including starting guard Caroline Lyles.
