STEPHENVILLE - In the first two games of the final three-game home stand, Tarleton dropped a match to St. Edward's but rebounded to dominate LSC rival Midwestern Thursday afternoon.

The TexAnns struggled from the get-go against SEU, dropping two of three doubles matches.
Karla Martinez and Melanie Barnes faltered in a tough No. 1 match losing 8-6, while Silvia Nieva and Kayla Deatherage dropped their No. 3 match 8-2.
The one win came from Alicia Perez and Mackenzie Mitchell in the No. 2 spot, as the duo improved to 13-1 in the No. 2 spot this season.
When singles began, the top two TexAnns provided the only singles wins of the day.
Perez battled for a 6-2, 7-5 win against the top-ranked Hilltopper while Martinez continued her dominant play with a 6-2, 6-4 win.
Barnes (6-3, 6-4), Nieva (6-0, 6-0), Mitchell (6-7, 6-4, 1-0) and Deatherage (6-0, 6-2) suffered losses.
"This was a tough loss for us," said head coach Lance Drake. "But I was proud to see Karla continue her strong play."
Thursday: Tarleton 6, Midwestern 1
The TexAnns came back from the tough loss Wednesday by taking six of seven completed matches against conference-rival Midwestern State.
The double duos of Martinez and Barnes and Perez and Mitchell got Tarleton on the board first with 9-8 victories.
The one loss of the day came on an 8-1 MSU win in the No. 3 doubles match.
Tarleton swept the singles field, despite having Mitchell and Deatherage's matches unfinished.
Perez won 6-3, 5-4 in the top spot while Martinez (6-4, 6-3) and Barnes (7-5, 6-1) claimed wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Nieva earned the last win of the day in the No. 4 spot 6-4, 6-2.
Tarleton is back in action Friday against Texas A&M-Kingsville at 10:30 a.m. there will be a hot dog cookout at 11 a.m.
