STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton State dominated the regular season finale against Texas A&M-Kingsville, taking eight out of nine matches.
Tarleton got off to a quick start by sweeping doubles action after Tarleton head coach Lance Drake shook up the teams.
Silvia Nieva and Mackenzie Mitchell battled in the No. 1 spot and pulled off an 8-3 win while Kayla Deatherage and Melanie Barnes won 8-1 out of the No. 2 position.
Alicia Perez paired up with rookie Natalie Torres in the No. 3 spot and earned the win 8-1.
In singles play, Tarleton dominated the top five spots before falling in the six hole.
Perez, Karla Martinez and Nieva won the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spots in a sweeping fashion 6-0, 6-0 while Barnes and Deatherage earned wins in the 4 and 5 spots by 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.
In her first singles action of the season, Torres fell in the No. 6 spot 8-4.
Tarleton will take part in the Lone Star Conference Tournament April 20.
