Tarleton ends regular season with 10-2 win over Cameron

LAWTON, OKLA.– The Tarleton baseball team finished up their season Sunday with a 10-2 victory over Cameron, putting the Texans at 26-19 on the year.

Tarleton used 15 hits to score 10 runs, including a six-run fourth inning to wrap-up the regular season.

Cameron got on the board first with a single run in the bottom of the first.

The Texans then exploded for the six runs in the fourth inning, taking control of the game.  Blake Silguero started the inning with a solo home run.  Chris Patton then followed with an RBI double before Andy Wolfe contributed an RBI single.  Ryan Small drew a bases loaded hit by pitch, making it 4-1.  Noah Ringenberger added a sacrifice fly, then Silguero capped off the inning with an RBI single. 

Tarleton would go on to add two more in the sixth and single runs in the seventh and ninth innings as they finished off the regular season with a 10-2 victory.

Silguero added two more RBI's in the game to finish with four RBI's on a 3-for-5 outing.  Wolfe went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and a run scored while Jonathan Schmitz, Garrett Hardey, and Small had two-hit games for Tarleton.

Tanner Ross (3-0) got the win after tossing two shutout innings in relief.  Taylor Christian and Austin Coble also had shutout innings out of the bullpen.

Wade Myatt gave up six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss for Cameron.

The Texans will head to San Angelo next weekend for the Lone Star Conference Tournament, their fourth straight postseason trip.  They will face Texas A&M-Kingsville at noon on Saturday, May 5.
