Â
SERIES HISTORY
The TexAnns and Bronchos have met 24 times in their history, dating back to 1995 when the schools were both members of the Lone Star Conference. Tarleton has won 11 of the 24 meetings, including two of the last three. The last time they met was in the LSC Championship Tournament semifinals in 2011, with the Bronchos winning 74-70 in double overtime.
Â
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Tuesday afternoon, the Lone Star Conference named Tarleton's
Brianna Bledsoe and
Kiara Wright the players of the week for their efforts in the first three games of the season. Bledsoe had a breakout game against Lubbock Christian with her first career double-double and career highs in points (29) and rebounds (10) to earn the offensive honors while Wright's dominant defensive performance earned her the defensive award.
Â
EYEING THE TOP 10 IN TARLETON SCORING
Kiara Wright continues to climb up Tarleton's all-time scoring list with 1,157 in her career. She is currently tied for No. 12 on the all-time list with just two more TexAnn greats standing between her and the top 10: Patti Phillips (1184) and Debra Howard (1185). Her next 29 points will put her in 10th place all-time in TexAnn history.
