THE GAME
The No. 9-ranked Tarleton State Texans (12-0, 1-0 LSC) will play its first official "road game" of the season this Saturday, Jan. 11, as the team travels to Kingsville to take on the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in Lone Star Conference action. Tip-off between the two teams is set for 3 p.m. at the Stienke Center in Kingsville.

Tarleton State Basketball will be broadcast live on KSTV (93.1 FM) throughout the season. Casey Hogan will have the call with Mike Young joining him for color commentary on mosts of the broadcasts. The games can also be found online at www.kstvfm.com for Saturday's contest.

Series Information
The Texans lead the all-time series 32-22 and despite falling to the Javelinas in the series finale last season, Tarleton has won eight of the last nine games played against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
The two teams split last season's series with Tarleton downing the Javelinas 52-46 in Stephenville before falling 56-55 to TAMUK in Kingsville. Head coach Lonn Reisman is 27-11 all-time when facing the Javelinas, which includes an 8-6 mark against TAMUK on the road.
 
Tarleton has won 22 of the last 25 games against TAMUK. Prior to last season's loss at the Stienke Center, Tarleton had not lost in Kingsville since Feb. 25, 2009.
 
Last Time out for Texans
Despite falling behind early in the first half, Tarleton erased a 13-point deficit against Angleo State to take a 38-36 lead going into halftime. The Texans then outscored the Rams 42-18 in the second half en route to an 80-54 win.
 
Chuck Guy paced the Texan offense with 24 points and Damion Clemons added 10 points and a career-high four blocks off the bench. Tashawn Mabry nailed three buckets from downtown and finished with 13 points for the Texans.
 
Scouting the Javelinas
Texas A&M-Kingsville is coming off a 68-66 loss to A&M-Commerce on Wednesday, falling to 5-8 overall and 0-1 in Lone Star Conference play. The Javelinas have dropped four out of its last six games and have just two two-game winning streaks on the season.
 
Rashad Basey leads the Javelinas and the LSC in scoring with 18.6 points per game. He also leads the squad with 24 steals and 11 blocks. Jordan Jahr tops the squad with 6.3 rebounds per game and Ronals Scott is the team leader with 54 assists on the year.
 
The Javelinas are shooting 43.6 percent from the field as a team and 45.9 percent from beyond the arc. TAMUK is converting 70.5 percent of its free throw attempts so far on the season.
 
Texans in the NABC Poll
The Texans retained the No. 9 spot in this week's NABC Top-25 Poll, with no changes being made to the top 10 spots in the rankings.
 
The Texans have been ranked inside the NABC Top-25 for 75 different weeks since making its first-ever appearance in the poll back on Dec. 17, 2002. Including this week, Tarleton has been ranked inside the top 10 for 43 different weeks overall.
 
Reisman's Hunt for 550
Head coach Lonn Reisman now has 542 career wins heading into this Saturday's contest in Kingsville. Reisman, who is in his 26th season with the Texans, now needs just eight more victories to earn his 550th career win. He would become just the 26th overall and ninth active NCAA Division II head coach to earn 550 wins. He would be the 83rd coach at both the D-1 and D-II levels to achieve the feat.
 
Reisman picked up victory No. 500 back on Jan. 21, 2012 when Tarleton defeated A&M-Commerce 78-53 in Stephenville.
 
Home Sweet Home
The Texans are on a current 17-game home winning streak that dates back to Jan. 2, 2013. The 17-game home win streak is now the fourth longest streak in school history.
 
Tarleton's longest home win streak was a 33-game win streak that began on Jan. 22, 2005 and ran through Jan. 27, 2007.
 
The Texans are now 354-64 (.847) overall inside Wisdom Gym under head coach Lonn Reisman.
 
Start me Up
Tarleton is 12-0 to start the season for the first time in program history since the school became a senior college in 1961. Prior to this season the Texans had just two 6-0 starts and had never been 7-0 to begin a season.
 
Texan Basketball Nearing .500 Mark
The Texans are now just two wins shy from getting back to a .500 all-time record. Tarleton is 722-724 overall heading Saturday's game following its 80-54 win over Angelo State.
 
Tarleton had an overall record of 180-498 before head coach Lonn Reisman took over, but behind Reisman's overall record of 542-226, the Texans are finally on track to become a .500 team once again.
 
Texans Keep on Scoring
The Texans have scored at least 75 points or more in all 12 games played so far this season. The 12 straight game with 75 points or more is the longest such streak in school history.
 
Guy Remains Sharp at Free Throw Line
Senior guard Chuck Guy snapped his consecutive free throw streak against Angleo State having made 40 straight free throws that dated back to the Central Washington game back on Dec. 21. In his previous four games, Guy has missed just two free throws having gone 9-for-11, 13-for-13, 10-for-10 and 12-for-13.
 
Clemons a Factor in Back-up role
Junior forward Damion Clemons has been a key element for the Texans off the bench over the last four games, averaging 4.5 points and pulling down a team-high 17 boards. The Dallas native has registered a team-high eight blocks in the last four games as well, including a career-high four blocks in Tarleton's win over ASU on Wednesday.
 
Texans Providing Sparks off the Bench
Tarleton's bench has played a key role in the Texans' 12-0 start heading into Saturday's game. The Texans have one of the deepest benches in all of the LSC and head into this weekend having outscored its opponents 526-274. The Texan bench is scoring 48.4 percent of its total points this season.
 
Reisman Radio Show begins This week
The Coach Lonn Reisman Radio Show will air for the first time this season on Friday, Jan. 10 at Bruner Motors in Stephenville. The show, which will be broadcast live on KSTV 93.1 FM in Stephenivlle, will begin at noon and will be hosted by the voice of the Texans, Casey Hogan.
 
Up next for the Texans
The Texans will continue LSC road play with a trip to Wichita Falls against Midwestern State, next Wednesday, Jan. 15. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
