SERIES HISTORY
This is the 40th career meeting between Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce dating back to the first meeting in 1981. Tarleton owns the all-time series 23-16. The team's met for the first time in Stephenville on Jan. 29, 1981 and Tarleton won 82-61. Tarleton started the series by taking the first four games before the teams battled back and forth through 2005. The Lions won six straight meetings from 2006-2008 before Tarleton ended the streak with an 84-60 victory in Commerce and started a streak of their own. The road win in 2009 started a string of six straight wins for Tarleton, entering Saturday's matchup.

BIG LOSS IN A WIN
Despite getting back in the win column last Saturday against Eastern New Mexico, Tarleton suffered a big loss on the evening. The TexAnns lost starting guard, Morgan Ashmore, to a season-ending knee injury on the final play of the first half. Ashmore went to the ground on hard contact attempting a buzzer-beating shot and would not return. She is expected to miss 4-6 months with a PCL injury. This marks the second straight season in which Tarleton has lost a starter to a season-ending knee injury.

MCGRATH JOINS THE STARTING LINEUP
In the absence of Morgan Ashmore, Raven McGrath will enter the starting lineup for the first time in her career. McGrath is the 10th player to start a game at point guard for the TexAnns under head coach Ronnie Hearne in 11 seasons at Tarleton.

BATTLE OF THE BOARDS
Saturday's game features a matchup of the two premiere rebounders in the Lone Star Conference - Kiara Wright and Breanna Harris. Wright currently leads the LSCwith 12.2 boards per game and Harris is second with 10.6 per game. Of Harris' 10.6 rebounds, 6.0 of those boards come on the offensive end, which leads the LSC.

BACK-TO-BACK GAMES
This is the third time this season that Tarleton will play on back-to-back days and Tarleton is 4-0 in games on consecutive days. However, it is the first time in school history that Tarleton will play back-to-back regular season conference games.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
After entering the season with high expectations, the Lions have struggled this season with a 3-14 record. Commerce lost the first seven games of the season. Since then, however, the Lions have won 3 of their last 10 with two of those wins coming against Midwestern State and Cameron. Breanna Harris is the only Lion averaging double figures this season with 16.4 points and 10.6 rebounds.

UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
